Top 15 Strongest Forbidden Jutsu in Naruto
In Naruto, Forbidden Jutsu offer great power, but also endanger either the user or the world at large. Here are the strongest forbidden techniques.
Forbidden Jutsu are extraordinary techniques in the realm of Naruto that pose a great threat once used, either to the world or to the user themselves. There is a wide variety of these Jutsu in the series and they belong to ninjutsu, genjutsu, and even taijutsu. These techniques are infrequently powerless and are frequently abuse the laws of nature.
Despite the fact that they're forbidden, a few characters from the series perform them n any case and gain tremendous power, consequently. These Jutsu range from the power to control life and death, to being able to revive the dead people. Here are the strongest known Forbidden Jutsu in the world of Naruto.
15. Twin Snake Sacrifice Jutsu
This technique was taught to Anko Mitarashi by Orochimaru. The user grabs one of their intended victim's hands and forces it to assist in performing the necessary hand seals. Once this is done, the user and the victim die, which Rin no Sho likens to a lovers' double-suicide. It's not actually clear how death occurs because the technique has never been seen performed successfully: when Anko uses it on Orochimaru, she stabs his hand to hers to prevent him from escaping as she performs the hand seals. When she realises he's merely a shadow clone, the technique is aborted. Naruto: One Decade, One Hundred Ninja illustrates this technique as two snakes coiling around Anko and Orochimaru.
14. Iwagakure Kinjutsu
This technique allows the user to knead chakra into materials. By doing so the object can be shaped, animated, and controlled remotely. On command, the objects size can also be manipulated — from nano-sized to gigantic heights.
Once the user infuses their chakra into an object, it can become a source of origin for a technique. Deidara stole this technique in his quest to find the ultimate art and used it in conjunction with his Explosion Release kekkei genkai to infuse explosive chakra into clay, creating his signature Explosive Clay. Sekiei, a fabrication, was given both the nature transformation and this technique to utilise it in the same way.
13. Earth Grudge Fear
The Earth Grudge Fear is a secret kinjutsu of Takigakure which transforms the user's body into something similar to that of a rag-doll, held together by hundreds of thick black threads.
12. Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation (Reanimation Jutsu)
The Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation is a jutsu that binds the soul of a deceased person to a living vessel, restoring them as they were when alive in order to do their summoner's bidding. It was originally created by Tobirama Senju, some time after which he declared it a kinjutsu. Orochimaru would discover the technique decades later and improve on its use while his subordinate Kabuto Yakushi nearly perfected it.
11. Cursed Seal of Earth & Cursed Seal of Heaven
The Cursed Seal of Earth is one of the strongest of Orochimaru's cursed seals, the other being its counterpart: the Cursed Seal of Heaven.
The Cursed Seal of Heaven is one of the strongest of Orochimaru's cursed seals, the other being its counterpart, the Cursed Seal of Earth.
10. Multi Shadow-Clone Jutsu
This technique is a larger-scale version of the standard Shadow Clone Technique; there is no real difference between them beyond the number of shadow clones being created. Creating even a single shadow clone will require half of a user's chakra, for which reason the normal Shadow Clone Technique is generally only safe to use for jōnin. Because of how many clones are created with the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, the chakra cost is far greater, rendering it unsafe to use for most people other than the Hokage. For this reason, the First Hokage declared it forbidden and hid it away in the Scroll of Seals. Naruto Uzumaki is among the few exceptions to this rule because of the sheer amount of chakra he has access to.
There is no established number of created clones separating the regular Shadow Clone Technique from the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. Average users tend to make no more than five shadow clones at a time with the regular version, whereas Naruto will make dozens, hundreds, or sometimes even a thousand with the Multiple version. Naruto Shinden: Parent and Child Day takes it in the opposite direction, showing Naruto use the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique yet only managing to make two clones because of how tired he is. Naruto sometimes doesn't even differentiate between the two techniques, simply saying "Shadow Clone Technique" regardless of how many clones he creates.
Whereas a small number of clones can be useful in a variety of ways, the huge number of clones created for this technique are almost exclusively used offensively, overwhelming opponents with countless attacks from all around. Naruto also utilises the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique while creating the Wind Release: Rasengan, completing years' worth of training within a matter of days.
9. Strength Of A Hundred Seal
The Strength of a Hundred Seal is a jutsu from the Sage of Six Paths era, that requires extremely delicate chakra control. By storing a vast amounts of chakra over an extended period of time into a specific point on their body — usually the forehead — the user creates this seal, which manifests in the form of a rhombus-like marking. Once the seal is formed, the user's already impressive chakra control allows them to perform techniques without any wasted energy. When released, the seal will either spread across the user's face or wrap around their entire body. The stored chakra is then released into their body, greatly amplifying the power of their techniques. The seal will permanently remain in the centre of the user's forehead, presumably so that the user can keep on benefiting from its effects.
This seal is also symbiotically linked to the summon Katsuyu. That is to say: the power of the techniques used by Katsuyu, is directly proportional to the reserves of the seal. By releasing the power of their seals, Tsunade and Sakura were able to combine its power with the Creation Rebirth technique in order to gain access to the Ninja Art Creation Rebirth — Strength of a Hundred Technique.
8. Wind Release: Rasenshuriken
The Wind Release: Rasenshuriken is a shuriken-shaped variant of the Wind Release: Rasengan.
The Rasenshuriken was invented by Naruto Uzumaki shortly after he figured out the principles of the Wind Release: Rasengan. Like that technique, Naruto typically has the help of two shadow clones in the Rasenshuriken's formation: he provides the chakra, one clone helps keep the chakra contained, and the second clone adds his wind nature. It is the completed version of the Wind Release: Rasengan, with four large points around the central Rasengan core, giving the appearance of a fūma shuriken. It also gives off a loud screeching noise. By the time of The Last: Naruto the Movie, Naruto is able to create Rasenshuriken without aid and is able to remotely guide it.
The Rasenshuriken requires a great deal of chakra to perform. Naruto has been shown creating as many as three Rasenshuriken on his own before tiring out. While in Sage Mode, he can create two Rasenshuriken per transformation. After the second, he must re-enter Sage Mode in order to be able to create additional Rasenshuriken. However, after improving his Sage Mode he's able to use three at a single time (five in the anime), and while in his Kurama Mode or Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, he can use the Rasenshuriken an unlimited number of times. Its four points are very sharp, enough to cut through rock and disintegrate most of Pain's Human Path. The technique is extremely heavy, as Fukasaku was surprised Naruto could throw the highly dense chakra, even in Sage Mode.
After travelling a certain distance or colliding with a target that it can't slice through, the central sphere of the Rasenshuriken detonates, producing a vortex of wind in the immediate area. Within this vortex, countless microscopic wind blades are created, so many that even the Sharingan can't count them all. The wind blades pierce every cell in the body, disconnecting them from the Chakra circulatory system and so preventing them from providing their physical energy to the chakra-creation process. Because of this, the target loses their ability to create and mould chakra, damage which cannot be healed by medical ninjutsu. Tsunade likens the damage to poison, and warns that if the damage is great enough, those affected by it won't be able to use jutsu again.
7. Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags
The Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags is a technique which forms part of a fighting style purposely designed for those who have been reincarnated, and employs the use of special explosive tags to create a near infinite series of explosions. By using their own body as a medium for the paper, the reincarnated individual creates several exploding tags formed from large sheets that each bear five seals on them. These special tags then attach themselves to the intended target, but just as they detonate, additional tags are created as these previous ones explode. This process is continuously repeated, leading to a near infinite chain reaction of consecutive explosions. By sacrificing themselves, this technique can also be employed by a live individual.
6. Izanami
The Izanami is one of the Uchiha clan's ultimate dōjutsu.
It is a genjutsu which affects the target through physical sensations shared between them and the user to perform the illusion. Like its counterpart, in exchange for the temporary ability that it grants the user, the Sharingan with which Izanami is cast is rendered blind and loses its light forever. According to Itachi, this technique and Izanagi form a pair, but unlike the latter, which is a technique capable of altering destiny, Izanami is instead one that "decides" it.
5. Izanagi
Izanagi is a genjutsu performed with the Sharingan.
With a normal genjutsu, a user will apply an illusion to a target's senses, causing the target to experience things that are not real. With Izanagi, the user applies an illusion to reality itself, giving the user control over what is and is not real for as long as Izanagi is active. Users typically do this in order to protect themselves, negating any injuries they receive or even their deaths. When this happens, their injured self fades away as an illusion and their non-injured self immediately materialises in the previous self's place. In the anime, users are shown extending Izanagi's influence beyond their personal reality, affecting their surroundings and those within it.
Izanagi is based on the Creation of All Things Technique, used by the Sage of Six Paths to turn imagination into reality. The process is explained to use spiritual energy – which forms the basis of Yin Release – to create shape from nothingness. Then, through the application of physical energy – which forms the basis of Yang Release – the shape has life breathed into it. Members of the Uchiha clan, as descendants of the Sage, perform Izanagi with their Sharingan. In exchange for the brief control over reality that Izanagi grants them, the Sharingan that they perform it with becomes blind; only awakening the Rinnegan restores the eye's vision. Because the Uchiha prized their Sharingan, to lose it in this way prompted them to label it kinjutsu.
Because Uchiha only possess half of the Sage's chakra, they can only keep Izanagi active for a few seconds. To maximise Izanagi's duration, it is necessary to recreate the Sage's chakra by also having genetic material of the Sage's other descendants, the Senju. Danzō Shimura receives both Uchiha and Senju implants, allowing him to use Izanagi for one minute. As this is still not very long, he has ten Sharingan implanted in his right arm, giving him up to ten minutes' worth of Izanagi with breaks in between as he chooses. Since he is not an Uchiha, each use of Izanagi causes Danzō's chakra to drop significantly. Obito Uchiha, because he has control over the Senju cells he uses, is able to keep a single Izanagi active for significantly longer than Danzō.
As with other Sharingan-based techniques, Izanagi can be programmed to activate under certain conditions. Madara Uchiha did so to undo his death after he'd been entombed, restoring him to life unbeknownst to anyone.
4. Dead Demon Consuming Seal (Reaper Death Seal)
The Dead Demon Consuming Seal is a sealing technique developed by the Uzumaki clan to call upon the power of the Shinigami. Its very existence is so secret that even Orochimaru knew nothing about it.
After the hand seals are performed, the user's soul is partly separated from their body and suspended behind them. Behind their soul appears the Shinigami, which restrains their soul with its hair. Only the summoner is able to see the Shinigami at this point. After a few moments, the Shinigami wraps its left arm with prayer beads and chants unintelligibly until a cursed seal appears on its arm. It then drives its arm into the summoner's soul, thus allowing the summoner to call upon the Shinigami to seal a target: the Shinigami's arm emerges from the summoner's body and grasps the target's soul. When Hiruzen Sarutobi performs it, he is required to get close to his target in order to initiate the seal. When Minato Namikaze performs it, he is able to remain at a distance. Targets are able to see the Shinigami so long as it's in contact with their soul.
While the Shinigami grabs their soul, the target is immobilised, any jutsu they may be using are dispelled, and they are prevented from performing additional jutsu. With targets unable to escape or fight back, the summoner can remove and seal their soul. Hiruzen was able to seal multiple souls by using this technique in conjunction with the Shadow Clone Technique. The sealing, however, is not necessarily complete nor automatic:
- When Minato uses it, he seals only the Nine-Tails' yin chakra, leaving its yang chakra alone.
- When Hiruzen used it on Orochimaru, he had to rely on his own physical strength to extract Orochimaru's soul. Because he lacked the strength to fully remove it, he opted instead to only seal Orochimaru's arms, accomplished by having the Shinigami cut off the arms of Orochimaru's soul.
3. Eight Gates
The Eight Gates are eight specific tenketsu along the chakra pathway system.
The Eight Gates exist in order to limit the flow of chakra within an individual's body. Ordinarily, individuals can use no more than 20% of their body's full potential, the brain's way of protecting the individual from harming their body through overexertion. With training, individuals can learn to remove these limiters, referred to as "opening" the gates. With each opened gate, individuals are given access to more and more of their body's chakra, thus increasing their physical strength and speed. Ninja able to open the Eight Gates have existed since at least the time of Madara Uchiha. Since Madara's era, there have only been a few known users:
- Might Duy learned to open all Eight Gates after twenty years of extensive training.
- Might Guy, Duy's son, was taught how to open all Eight Gates by his father.
- Rock Lee, Guy's student, was taught how to open some of the Eight Gates by Guy. During Part I, he's able to open the first five gates.[1] By Part II, he's able to open the sixth gate. By adulthood, Lee had mastered all eight gates.
- In the anime, Metal Lee, Rock Lee's son, is shown subconsciously opening the first gate.
- Kakashi Hatake is seemingly able to open the first gate, as seen when he activates it during a Cliff Climbing Practice. The anime later shows him opening it explicitly.
2. Edo Tensei
The Edo Tensei is a jutsu that binds the soul of a deceased person to a living vessel, restoring them as they were when alive in order to do their summoner's bidding. It was originally created by Tobirama Senju, some time after which he declared it a kinjutsu. Orochimaru would discover the technique decades later and improve on its use while his subordinate Kabuto Yakushi nearly perfected it.
1. Rinne Rebirth (Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique)
The Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique is a reincarnation ninjutsu used through the Outer Path, which can infuse new life into the bodies of the dead in exchange for the user's own life.
When this technique is activated, the King of Hell emerges from the ground and releases the souls of the deceased from its mouth. These souls may be recalled from even the crossroad between life and the afterlife, and are then returned to their rejuvenated bodies. The exact limitations of this technique are unknown, but on one occasion, it was able to resurrect a large number of individuals who had recently died. While using this technique, the caster is severely weakened; for instance, Nagato's hair turned white as a result of overexerting his power. Ultimately, once the technique is finished, the user invariably dies.
This technique can also be used to transform the corpse vessel of an individual revived by Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation into a real body of living flesh and blood. However, whereas the rest of the reincarnated Madara Uchiha's body was made real, his eyes instead crumbled into dust upon his resurrection.
